What is TPS (transactions per second)?

TPS measures how many transactions a blockchain can process per second; Monad is designed for 10,000 TPS, compared with roughly 15 to 30 on Ethereum mainnet.

Raw TPS depends on transaction complexity, so it is a design target rather than a constant. Parallel execution is what lets Monad scale TPS with hardware cores instead of being capped by single-threaded execution.
