What is Gas limit?
The gas limit is the maximum amount of gas a transaction is allowed to consume; if execution needs more, the transaction reverts and the gas is still spent.
Wallets estimate a gas limit by simulating the call. Blocks also have a gas limit that caps the total work per block; on Monad that is 150,000,000 gas per block and 30,000,000 per transaction. Because Monad charges fees on the limit rather than usage, overestimating the limit directly increases cost.
